Wisdom Teeth

Ugh, it’s been a while again.  Sorry guys… I’ve been so busy lately with the usual, school, swimming, family, etc.  Anyways, I got my wisdom teeth pulled out yesterday.  It is not something I would want to experience again.  I can hardly talk now and my mouth is all swollen.  I’m going to try to get some Trellis Desk work done this weekend as I will be sitting in bed the whole time.  We’ll see how that goes. :P

New MacBooks

Apple made their big announcement of new MacBooks today.  I was a bit nervous at first, because my MacBook Pro is only a few months old.  I was worried that the refresh would render my MBP completely out-of-date.  Now that everything has been revealed, I am relieved.  There isn’t that much of a difference, in my opinion, between my MBP and the new ones.  I don’t like glossy screens (hate the glare) and the glass trackpad just seems a little… awkward.  I’m not a big fan of the black keyboard; I like my aluminum keys.  However, I do like the new design from the outside (when the lid is closed).  It looks slightly sleeker and more stylish to me, but oh well (okay… it’s SEXY).  And the hardware improvements, I am fine with my current hard drive (200 GB 7200 RPM), processor speed (2.5 GHz), and graphics card (GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB RAM).  Okay… maybe a 320 GB 7200 RPM HDD would be nice, but that’s why I have my external FireWire hard drive for the extra space.

But wait!  It looks like only the 15-inch MacBook Pro has the new design!  Apple has stated that while the 17-inch MPB will be refreshed with hardware upgrades, it will keep its original aluminum design.  Therefore, I feel much better and not so left out of the group with my 5-month-old 17-inch MacBook Pro.  From the outside, you can’t even tell that it’s not the latest generation. :)

I Hate Physics

It’s 11:03 PM and I just finished two hours of AP Physics homework.  Left to complete: English, Government, and AP Calculus.

… I don’t think I’ll be working on Trellis Desk tonight.

Busy Busy

Hey guys,

Sorry for the lack of posts.  I have been extremely busy these past couple weeks.  AP Physics has been swamping me with work.  I have never taken such a hard class.  It sucks, but I’ll survive somehow.  College applications have opened, so there’s more work for me.  I’m hoping to get into Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  And of course the usually Trellis Desk work.  v2 is coming along nicely

Keep your eye on the ACCORD5 for the next couple days. ;)

Cleaned My Mighty Mouse

I love my Mighty Mouse. It has always been a great companion to my MacBook Pro. But recently, it has fell victim to the annoying sticky scroll wheel problem. At first I was usually able to get my scrolling working fine again my simply vigorously rubbing the scroll ball. However, yesterday that method failed to work, and I could no longer scroll down. So today, with the help of this website and YouTube video, I opened up my Mighty Mouse and cleaned the scroll wheel components with rubbing alcohol. Now scrolling works perfect again, just like new. I really wish Apple would make cleaning the scroll wheel easier though.

Don’t Start An Update at 2am

Well, I thought my VPS was fast. But apparently it isn’t very fast at updating, more maybe I’m just expecting a little too much. I’m still new to the whole VPS thing and having root access / control to my server. Anyways, a few nights ago I decided to update the server software. PHP needed to be upgraded and so did cPanel/WHM. Well… I thought it would only take a few minutes at most. Turns at it took about an hour and a half. I didn’t get a lot of sleep that night. :P

The Page Is What?!

So I was minding my own business, coding Trellis Desk and uploading my changes to my live development server, when suddenly I hit refresh and…

Page Unavailable

I have no idea what happened. I didn’t even change a line of code between the time it was working and this error message. And my work has nothing to do with Windows Live ID. It’s been like this for a while now. I’ve asked other people to check it for me and it works fine for them, just not me. I’ve cleared cache, flushed DNS, etc. Guess we’ll see tomorrow.
